The location is not easy to find. It is in a dike running away from the road (A713) and is to the south of Brochloch Tower. The site is on the northern outskirts of Carsphairn, about 3.4km northwest of Carsphairn village center. The actual crash site is approximately 100 meters further west (away from the road).
