The site is located on a remote mountainside of Brendlkar. Brendlkar is in the Austrian hiking area south of Erhwald and north of Mieming. The site is located just south of lake Brendlsee and approximately halfway between the Coburgerhutte and the Breitenkopfhutte at an elevation over 2000 meters. From the Brendlsee continue south to climb up the trail called the Ganghofersteig. The site is approximately 250 meters south of the Brendlsee (as the crow flies).
