Amersfoot is a town lying 50 kilometers southeast of Amsterdam, and 22 kilometers northeast of Utrecht. The Amersfoort (Oud Leusden) General Cemetery (also known as Rusthof Cemetery) is about 2.5 kilometers from the railway station, in an area known as Oud Leusden. The graves are in a special plot, well-sited among trees.
