A stone pillar with inscriptions commemorating the town's and Allied units' servicemen who died in the area during WWII.
2nd Lt Glenn Goodrich, pilot of the P-38 Lightning 42-67518, of the 429th Fighter Squadron, 474th Fighter Group, took off from station 454 in Warmwell, Dorset, UK on a mission over Mantes-Gassicourt. He was attacked by enemy fighters and he crashed nearby on July 18, 1944.
