377th Infantry Regiment Window

<< Back to Trévières Church

Details:

In the tabernacle in the back of the Catholic church in Trevieres. Commemorative Object A stained glass window honoring the 377th Infantry Regiment, 95th Division.  This church was heavily damaged during the naval bombardment before the Normandy invasion, and then especially on 8 June 1944 after the invasion.  (Mass was not held in the church again until 1953.)  American GI's contributed to the renovation of the church.  In gratitude, the village installed this window honoring the Regiment.  The window contains the American eagle, branch insignia of US Army branches, insignia of US Army ranks, and the unit insignia of the 377th Infantry Regiment and 95th Infantry Division.
