Monument

The Rimaucourt Hospital and Cemetery Memorial is a black and brown granite tablet that rests on a black granite base at the end of a stone walkway. It is flanked by two flagpoles with an American and French flag. The moment also features the logo of Le Souvenir Français in the upper left hand corner. The front of the monument features gold lettering that describes (in French) the importance of the location as an American military hospital and cemetery.

The hospital located at this place was known as Army Base Hospital Number 52.  This hospital was one of the largest "hospital centers," the technical name for a grouping of base hospitals. Although the hospital at Rimaucourt was originally meant to have only 2000 beds, it grew into the 5000 bed hospital center that is memorialized by this monument today.

AEF Cemetery # 92 was located in Rimaucourt during WW1.
