Captain Eric Fisher Wood Memorial -106th Infantry Division

Details:

The memorial is located on a small elevated surface on the west side of an unnamed road north of the small town of Eiterbach, Belgium, behind a group of rocks that form a wall. It is situated in small mulch garden with several plants that is enclosed by trees which form a perimeter for the memorial. 

Monument

The memorials consists of several parts, including a gray stone cross that rests on a lighter field stone base. The cross features an engraved inscription (in both English and German) that commemorates the sacrifice of Eric Fish Wood. There is a picture of Capt. Wood that rests in a small wooden frame in front of the cross. On the right hand side of the memorial, there is a metal silhouette of a U.S. soldier who is holding an electric candle, flower, and a metal silhouette of a rifle.
