10 stained glass windows and 10 copper plated plaques.

 

The stained glass windows and plaques represent the Divisions and Army which fought in Italy during the Italian Campaign of World War II.

 

The Stainless windows show the division symbols (shoulder patch insignia); while the plaques include the unit name and motto.

 

The Divisions include:  3rd; 10th; 34th; 36th; 45th; 82nd; 85th; 88th; 91st and 92nd.

 

 

Army includes:  5th Army

 

A selection of photos of the stain glassed windows and plaques are included as an example of what can be seen in the chapel.

Note:  Two Divisions that participated in the Italian Campaign in WWII are missing from the collection:  the 88th Division "Fighting Blue Devils" and the 1st Armored Division "Old Ironsides". Three Divisions that fought in the battle for Sicily are also not included:  the 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One"; 2nd Armored Division "Hell on Wheels" and the 9th Infantry Division "Old Reliables" 

Monument Text:

The Stain glassed windows include the Division symbol (Shoulder patch) with the words “In Memoriam” underneath the symbol.

 

The copper plated plaques next to each window include the unit name, symbol and motto:  They include:
