Stone monument with plaque to the 109th Infantry Regiment who fought in this area at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge on December 16, 1944.

Monument Text:

Plaque on stone monument is in poor condition but reads:

In memory of the soldiers from the 109th Regiment U. S. 28th Infantry Division and the German G.R. 916, 352 Volksgrenadier Division who fought and died on this highground above Hoesdorf on the opening day of the "Battle of the Bulge" 16th December 1944. May their sacrifices never be forgotten.
