Obwohl es nur 1 km flussaufwärts bereits eine Bannmühle gab (die Teschenmühle), errichteten die Eheleute Eydt, beide aus Müllersfamilien stammend, im Jahre 1770 eine weitere Mühle an derAlzette.
Das damals noch „Hesperinger Mühle“ oder „Neumühle“ genannte Anwesen wechselte mehrfach den Besitzer.
Den Namen ,,Wolffsmühle“ erhielt es, als die Familie Wolff um 1850 die Mühle übernahm. Ein Sohn der Familie, Jean-Georges Wolff (Foto rechts), wurde später Priester und war eine Zeitlang Professoram Priesterseminar.
1880 ging die Mühle in den Besitz der Familie Müller über.
Bien qu'à 1 km en amont il y avait déjà un moulin à ban (le moulin Tesch), les époux Eydt qui provenaient tous les deux d'une famille de meuniers, construisirent en 1770 un nouveau moulin le long de l'Alzette.
Le domaine nommé à cette époque-là «Moulin de Hesperange» ou «Neumühle» changea à plusieurs reprises de propriétaire.
Le nom «Wolffsmühle» lui a été attribué quand la famille Wolff reprit le moulin en 1850. Un des fils de la famille, Jean-Georges Wolff (photo à droite), devint plus tard prêtre et fut un certain temps professeur au séminaire.
En 1880, le moulin devint la possession de la famille Müller.

Blick in das Alzettetal im Bereich der Hesperinger Mühle. Den Mühlengraben kann man gut erkennen. Die Mühlräder befinden sich in den Anbauten rechts. Im Hintergrund sieht man das Howalder Plateau, damals noch fast unbebaut.
Vue sur la vallée de l'Alzette et sur le domaine du moulin de Hesperange. On reconnaît bien le fossé du moulin. Lea roues du moulin se trouvent dans les bâtiments annexes du côté droit. En arrière-plan, on aperçoit le plateau de Howald qui à l'époque était encore presque vide de toute construction.

Über der Eingangstür der Mühle stand früher eine Statue des heiligen Donatus.

In der Ferraris-Karte (1771-1777) war die Neumühle als „Moulin de Hesperange" eingetragen. Anders als die Teschenmühle lag sie etwas abseits der Ortschaft.
Sur la carte Ferraris (1771-1777), le moulin «Neumühle» était enrégistré comme «Moulin de Hesperange». Contrairement au moulin Tesch, il se trouvait un peu en dehors de la localité.

Im rückwärtigen Bereich des Gebäudes befand sich früher ein Sägewerk.

Das am 29.10.1995 eingeweihte Denkmal nahe der Wolffsmühle erinnert an einen tragischen Verkehrsunfall, der am 22.10.1945 passierte. Beim Zusammenstoß des „Jangeli" mit Militärlastem, die mit Benzinkanistem beladen waren, starben fünf amerikanische Soldaten sofort und drei weitere erlagen später ihren schweren Brandverletzungen.
Es handelt sich mittlerweile um das dritte Denkmal, wobei das zweite nicht das richtige Datum des Unglückstags trug. Statt dem oben genannten Tag stand dort der 23.10.1945.
Le monument inauguré le 29-10-1995 près du moulin Wolff a été érigé en souvenir de l'horrible accident routier qui s'est produit le 22-10-1945. Lors de la collision du «Jangeli» avec des camions militaires remplis de bidons d'essence, cinq soldats américains ont trouvé la mort sur place et trois autres peu après des suites de leurs graves brûlures.
Il s'agit du troisième monument puisque le deuxième ne portait pas la bonne date de l'accident.
À la place de la date indiquée ci-dessus, il y avait l'inscription 23-10-1945.
English translation: The monument inaugurated on 10/29/1995 near the Wolff mill was erected in memory of the horrific road accident that occurred on 10/22/1945. In the collision of the "Jangeli" with military trucks filled with gasoline cans, five American soldiers were killed on the spot and three others shortly after as a result of their serious burns.
This is the third monument since the second did not bear the correct date of the accident.
Instead of the date shown above, there was the inscription 23-10-1945.
