Mietesheim Liberation Plaque -45th & 36th Infantry Divisions

The memorial is set beside the street signs and is over the sloping garden scape that is edged by retaining walls.


Plaque

A  rectangular brown plaque with printed wood background attached to a wooden backboard and is affixed to an upright stone that is supported by a stone base. The plaque is printed in French and English in a white lettering inscription. The images depicted are the insignias of the 45th and the 36th Infantry Divisions. The plaque commemorates the American soldiers of the above Divisions in liberating the town from German occupation during World War II. It is also placed below another plaque with a picture of the church.
