101st Airborne Division Monument

Next to the town World War 2 and Belgian 1st Brigade Army memorials.
A red brick monument with a brass symbol of the 101st Airborne Division Symbol in the center.
The memorial remembers the 101st Airborne Division which fought in and around Opheusden in September and October 1944. In the aftermath of Operation Market Garden, the town of Opheusden became part of the new front line known as the Battle of the Nijmegen salient or the Defense of the Nijmegen bridgehead which occurred in late September and October 1944.
