104th Infantry “Timberwolves” Division Memorial
Details:
In the center of the park.
A brass inscribed plaque of the city with an inscription attached to a stainless steel base about 7 feet tall.
The memorial remembers how the 104th Infantry Division spared the city further destruction in April 1945.
The Commanding General of the 104th Infantry Division, Major General Terry Allen, negotiated with the mayor of Halle and Felix Count Von Luckner, the famous explorer, for the town’s surrender and thus spared its destruction.
