Details:
On a lawn along the esplanade next to where the small boats and yachts are parked on land.
Two large granite tablets placed side by side on a brick wall overlooking the sea. The plaques are inscribed in English in gold lettering. The first plaque is an account of services of the rescue unit with the 8th Air Force insignia etched on the bottom left corner of the plaque while the second plaque is a Roll of Honor including the two USAAF personnel from the 390th BG who were killed during an ASR operation on June 29, 1944. Unfortunately, the bodies of the two 390th BG personnel were never found. The memorial was unveiled on April 23, 2005.
