1Lt James Meagher Plaque
Details:
On the north side of the road. It is placed on the right behind the
cross.
A square, black, stone plaque mounted on the low red brick wall behind the cross. The plaque is inscribed with a commemoration message written in French in gold lettering. Aside from 1Lt Meagher, also commemorated on the plaque is the North African parachutist Georges El Medioni. 1Lt Meagher was shot down by FW190 while escorting a disabled B-17 on the return from a bomber escort mission to Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
