Technician 5th Class Arthur P Mongoy was born in Mexico in 1921. He lived in Santa Barbara, California and enlisted in the US Army in 1943. He served in the 393rd Infantry Regiment of the 99th “Checkerboard” or “Battle Babies” Infantry Division. He was killed in action in January 1945 during battle in Europe.
