Details:
On the east side of the road.
Three, high, vertical stone bars, with one horizontal bar forming a cross figure. On the lower part of the monument are photo insets and three circular figures containing the names, the place of origin as well as the dates of birth and death dates of those who died. This monument, inscribed in French text, was inaugurated on September 12, 1945, and pays tribute to three people who died on this hill, namely: Jack HARGIS, an American soldier whose plane was machine-gunned in August 1943, his parachute had failed to open. The other two were Gilbert LAGNEAU and Gérard DOGIMONT, both volunteers in the White Army. 2nd Lt. Jack Hargis was killed in action on August 17, 1943, while piloting Dame Satan on the Schweinfurt mission.
