Monument

A small, rough-hewn stone monument, bearing a rectangular, black, stone plaque containing a commemoration message. The stele commemorates the 8th U.S. Infantry Division which landed on this beach on July 04, 1944. The inscription on the plaque is written in French and English in gold and engraved lettering. The image above the inscription is the Division’s insignia.
