The memorial is on the east side of the road against the side of an old ivy-covered barn so is often obscured by flowers or ivy. Marker
A marble tombstone that serves as a memorial bearing two plaques that commemorate 2Lt Charles H. Kern. The plaques are written in French in gold-leaf lettering. 2Lt Kern was killed in the crash of his P-47 Thunderbolt during a strafing mission on August 2, 1944. He served in the 365th Figther Squadron, 358th Fighter Group.
For a time, 2Lt Kern was buried here. Currently, he is buried in the USA.
