The monument is located adjacent to the main entrance on the south side of the Chancery of the U.S. Embassy to the Russian Federation.
Statue
A 3-meter bronze full-figure sculpture of a young John Quincy Adams standing on a 1-meter stone base.
Russian surrealist sculptor Alexander Nikolayevich Burganov, a National Artist of Russia, and a member of the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, created this work in 2008.
Burganov's other works include a monument to Alexander Pushkin located at George Washington University in Washington DC (2000), a monument to US poet Walt Whitman in front of Moscow State University (2009), and two monuments in the Burganov Sculpture Garden on Ecology Square in Moscow: US President Abraham Lincoln shaking hands with Russian Tsar Aleksandr II (2011). and the Monument of the Meeting between U.S. and Soviet Forces on the Elbe River during World War II (2016).
