Monument
A rough-hewn stone monument with a square bronze plaque mounted on it. The commemorative stele was inaugurated on October 11, 2014, in honor of the troops of the 7th US Army who were stationed in the town during World War II. It was erected with the help of the Souvenir French de Bourgoin-Jallieu.
During the period from September 3 to October 12, 1944, the 7th Army was stationed in Biol. Here, they focused on establishing and installing transmission antennas. These antennas were vital for maintaining reliable communication across the front lines and coordinating with other Allied forces. By setting up transmission antennas in Biol, the 7th Army ensured that their command and control systems remained operational, facilitating the coordination of their offensive actions and logistics. The installation of transmission equipment in Biol allowed the 7th Army to continue its offensive operations effectively. The town’s location likely played a strategic role in the broader campaign, serving as a key point for communication and coordination as the Army pushed northward.
