The Isolated Burial (ISOB) of Second Lieutenant John Richard “Dick” Vlymen Jr. He was the Co-Pilot on B-17 (42-107076) of the 563rd Bomber Squadron, 388th Bomber Group, 8th Air Force. On April 9, 1944 his plane was shot down after a mission to Poznan, Poland. The entire crew of ten was KIA. His body was discovered washed ashore near Bøtø, Denmark and he was buried in this cemetery.
The crew of B-17 (42-107076) consisted of:
