ISOB Merwin H. Brewer - 37th Infantry Division, WW1
Details:
CWGC grave 38. Isolated Burial
A flat inscribed brownstone, not the typical CWGC headstone.
The Isolate Burial (ISOB) of Private Mervin H. Brewer of the 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division who died from wounds received in combat earlier in November 1918.
A fellow solider of the 148th Infantry Regiment, Private George Drake, is also buried in this cemetery. Both men were from a regiment of the 37th Division, which was the Ohio National Guard division during the war. The division went over the top the first day of the Meuse-Argonne and was redeployed late in the war to Flanders, where these men likely received their fatal wounds.
