On a trail switchback wall.
A stamped metal bronze color plaque and pieces of the B-17 aircraft.
The memorial remembers the crew of the B-17 'None' (42-97728) of 352nd Bomber Squadron, 301st Bomber Group, Heavy, 15th Air Force that crashed here on November 15, 1944. The B-17 went down in heavy weather possibly due to a mechanical problem after a mission to Linz, Austria. 8 of the crew were KIA; 2 survived and became POWs.
