American Liberators Stained Glass Window
Details:
Commemorative Object
The stained glass window, divided into two columns, depicts key moments from Biville’s World War II liberation. The left column shows the arrival and advance of American forces, while the right highlights the D-Day landings, care for the wounded, and the village’s joyful liberation. Designed by Louis Barillet shortly after the war, it forms part of a set of five windows dedicated to Saint Thomas Hélye, a local 13th-century priest and saint.
