An upright rectangular granite monument stands in remembrance of the former temporary military cemetery known as Le Chêne Guérin, which served as the resting place for 1,262 American soldiers from August 7, 1944, until May 11, 1957, before their remains were repatriated or transferred to permanent military cemeteries. The monument is written in French.
