Isolated Burial
 
A private upright family headstone.
 
The Isolated Burial (ISOB) of Private John Joseph (James) Murphy is was from Ireland, immigrated to New York City.  He served in Company D, 307th Infantry Regiment, 77th Infantry Division during the First World War.  He was killed in action in France on June 24, 1918.  His remains were returned to Ireland in 1922 on the SS Millwater.
