A small inscribed brass plaque with a rainbow painted adjacent to it on the building front remembering the liberation of Salzburg in May 1945 by the 42nd "Rainbow" Infantry Divsion commanded by MG Harry J. Collins.

The text on the plaque is written in German and reads:
Der Regenbogen war das Symbol der
US-Rainbow-Division (42. Infanteriedivision),
die unter dem Kommando von Generalmajor Harry J. Collins im Mai 1945 a
n der Befreiung des Bundeslandes Salzburg beteiligt war.
In dankbarer Erinnerung die Landeshauptstadt Salzburg.
The English Transaltion is:
The rainbow was the symbol of the
US "Rainbow Division" (42nd Infantry Division),
which, under the command of Major General Harry J. Collins,
participated in the liberation of the state of Salzburg in May 1945.
In grateful remembrance, the state capital of Salzburg.
