Isolated Burial

A family headstone.

The Isolated Burial (ISOB) of Color Sergeant William J. 'Bill' Sheahan serving in Compnay L, 165th Infantry Regiment, 42nd Infantry Divsion.  He was born in County Limerick, Ireland in 1892 and immigrated to New York around 1911.  He served in the US Army in WW2 and was killed in action on October 15, 1918 during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France.  His remains returned to Ireland in 1922 on the SS Millwater an he was buried in Kilfergus cemetery.
