A brass inscribed plaque.

The memorail remebers the B-24 'Stinky the B.T.O' (42-64462) -'Big Time Operator' of the 716th Bomber Squadron, 449th Bomber Group, 15th US Air Force. Flying from the Grottaglie field in Southern Italy, the B. T. O. with Brownings crew aboard blew up when hit by flak bursts and FW-190 and ME-109 aircraft as she was returning from the 22 February 44 mission to Regensburg, Germany. 3 KIA 7 POW. MACR 2636.

Zum Gedenken an die am 22.2.1944
in Wenigzell abgestürzte Flugzeugbesatzung.
Drei Soldaten der 15. US - Air Force fanden dabei den Tod.

In memory of the aircrew of the 15th.US Air Force who crash landed in the vicinity of Wenigzell on February 22nd. 1944. Three of the Airmen lost their lives and seven survived
