PlaqueA rectangular bronze plaque set on a rounded flat boulder commemorating the crew of B-24 #44-10579 Pugnacious Princess Pat, of 566th Bombardment Squadron, 389th Bombardment Group, 2nd Air Division of the Eighth U.S. Air Force, which crashed nearby on November 26, 1944, resulting in six fatalities and four captured. It also pays tribute to the local civilians who came to their aid. The plaque bears the crews names, ranks, positions, and hometowns, inscribed in both German and English. The memorial stone was placed in 2014 through the joint efforts of the crews families and the German War Graves Commission.

The families of the brave men aboard the United States Army Air Force B-24 Pugnacious Princess Pat dedicate this memorial to the compassionate people of Altwarmbüchen, Germany, who respectfully buried our men who died in the crash and who tended the wounded navigator, 2Lt Wayne Buhrmann on November 26, 1944. Special thanks to Margrit Berkelmann Dietterie, only 7 years old at the time, who courageously brought Wayne a cup of water to drink. We also extend our appreciation to the German people beyond Altwarmbüchen who tended to 1Lt Robert Hicks, SSgt John Fithen, and SSgt Alfred Fromm.
Diese Gedenkstein widmen die Familien der Mannschaft des am 26. November 1944 abgestürzten US-amerikanischn Flugzeug B-24 Pugnacious Princess Pat den Bürgern von Altwarmbüchen in Deutschland. Sie haben damals voller Respekt und Mitgefühl unsere beim Absturz ums Leben gekommen Männer begraben und sich um den verwundeten Navigator 2Lt Wayne Buhrmann dekümmert. Besonderer Dank gilt der damals sieben Jahre alten Margrit Berkelmann, verh. Dietterie, die diesem ohne Furcht einin Becher voll Wasser zum Trinken gereicht hat. Unser Dan gilt daruber hinaus auch allen Deutschen, die damals
die drei weiteren Überlebenden begleitet haben.
