The Isolated Burial (ISOB) of 2nd Lieutenant Richard Varian Banks who was killed in an automobile accident inear Nancy, France and died on October 30, 1918.
2LT Banks initally arrived with the American Field Service in June 1917 and served with the Transport Section 526 until November 18, 1917. He then enlisted U. S. Air Service on December 2, 1917. He trained in Tours and Issoudun (3rd Aviation Center) and was commissioned Second Lieutenant, May 18, 1918.
