Plaque

A rectangular bronze plaque commemorating the 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion and their courageous initial attack during the Battle of the Bulge on 27 December 1944. It also pays tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Wood G. Joerg, the battalion's commander, who was killed in action during the battle. The plaque is inscribed in both French and English and features the unit's insignia.
