MuseumA museum that remembers the 15th US Air Force operations and more specifically the Tuskegee Airmen who flew from this area during WW2. The Museum of Aviation and the Tuskegee Airmen (MATA) (Museo dell Aviazione e dei Tuskegee Airmen) also serves at the Chapter Headquarters for the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc Italy Chapter.
The museum or MATA, includes uniforms, artifacts and information panels remembering the US and British Aviation operations that occurred in this are during the war. Special attention is paid to remembering the 332nd Fighter Group (Red Tails) known as the Tuskegee Airmen who served at the nearby Ramitelli Airfield during the war. The museum offers guided tours of the local area. The museum is part of the national Aviation Museum network designed to remember and to educate.
