The U.S. Naval Air Station at Lough Foyle, Ireland, was a seaplane base established in July 1918 with Commander Henry D. Cooke in command.   Lough Foyle was used for patrols over the North Channel entrance to the Irish Sea.    The northern Ireland station, located between County Londonderry (now Northern Ireland) and County Donegal (now Ireland) was disestablished in February 1919.

The memorial was dedicated in 2021. More information about this base can be found at the local Inishowen Maritime Museum & Planetarium.
