Monument

The monument honors the 39 soldiers of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2CR) who lost their lives during Operation Iraqi Freedom (6 April 20034 July 2004 and 13 September 200727 October 2008) and 22 soldiers who fell during Operation Enduring Freedom (4 July 201018 May 2011 and 25 July 20136 April 2014).

FOR THE WHOLE EARTH IS THE TOMB OF FAMOUS MEN; NOT ONLY ARE THEY COMMEMORATED BY COLUMNS AND INSCRIPTIONS, BUT THERE DWELLS ALSO AN UNWRITTEN MEMORIAL OF THEM, GRAVE NOT ON STONE BUT IN THE HEARTS OF MEN.

IT IS FOOLISH AND WRONG TO MOURN THE MEN WHO DIED. RATHER WE SHOULD THANK GOD THAT SUCH MEN LIVED.
