Isolated Burial

An inscribed Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) memorial headstone commemorating Lieutenant Meredith B. Lewis, who died during World War I. Lewis was from Philadelphia and served with the Royal Flying Corps which later became the Royal Air Force (RAF). He trained to become a pilot in Canada. Lewis served with the 54th RAF squadron and died in Camel, D-1945 on July 15, 1918 last seen at 1200 feet over Paroy in combat while on offensive patrol.
