On the south side of the road.

Marker

The memorial is a dark wooden roadside post topped with a broad, slanted panel. A white metal plaque fixed across the top commemorates the nine American airmen who died when the B-17 Rosies Sweat Box crashed nearby during takeoff on 17 September 1944. A smaller panel beneath it lists the crew members and their roles.
