In the town center of Thiaucourt, France, on the town's War Monument. Approximately 2km east of the St. Mihiel American War Cemetery.
MonumentA bronze statue depicting an American WWI soldier and a French soldier shaking hands stands as a symbol of gratitude for the towns liberation by Pershings First Army. The American figure was modeled after Captain Oliver B. Cunningham of the 15th Field Artillery, 2nd Division, who was killed near Thiaucourt. The sculpture is mounted on an obelisk-shaped stone monument.
