On the north side of the rue de l'Eglise at the west entrance to town Marker

A small fieldstone with French inscription honors the 90th Division. GIs of the U.S. 90th ID lost a battle with the 6th Fallschirmjaeger Regiment under Major Friedrich August Freiherr von der Heydte here on 22 July 1944. The battle resulted in the capture of more than 200 U.S. soldiers, 400 wounded.
