On top of a hill overlooking the valley, immediately adjacent to a French military cemetery (La nécropolis nationale de Sigolsheim).

Monument

An impressive memorial buit on top of a hill overlooking the valley.  Inaugurated on 16 November 1996. This monument is erected in memory of all American Units (12 Divisions), that fought along side of the French First Army from November 1944 to February 1945 for the liberation of the Alsace province. The monument was built at the initiative of the French 1st Army Association (Rhin et Danube) and the ground on which it stands was donated by the city of Sigolsheim.  Maintenance is assumed by the services of the city of Sigolsheim.

English translation:

This monument, in memory of our American comrades killed in Alsace for our liberty was erected at the initiative of Mr. Claude Collin de Bocage, National President of the Rhine and Danuber, and veteran of the First French Army, and Mr. Fernand Wespy, departmental president of Rhine and Danube and veteran of the First French Army.  It was inaugurated on 31 May 1995 in the presence of the Honorable Pamela Harriman, US Ambassador to France.
