A grey stone marker with engraved English text and a cross commemorate Armstrong, an American citizen, who fought and died with the Australian Infantry (AIF) during the Galipoli Campaign (25 April 1915 - 9 January 1916) of WWI. The marker is a "special memorial" as the exact location of Armstrong's remains are unknown but believed to be located within the cemetery.
