Monument

A roughly carved stone vertical stone slab set on a rectangular stone base bearing white lettering commemorating American aviators.�

The memorial remembers B-17 (42-37770) " Flak Rat" of the 614th Bomber Squadron, 401st Bomber Group and B-17 (42-2992) " Oklahoma Okie" of the 324th Bomber Squadron, 91st Bomber Group both fell on December 31st 1943, over the towns of Arjuzanx and Lesperon, respectively.�

The memory 2LT Lee Allen the pilot of B-24 (42-7577) "Buzz Buggy" of the 704th Bomb Squadron, 446th Bomber Group whose body washed up from the Atlantic onto the beaches of Mimizan, is also remembered on this monument.
