Coles Bayonet Charge

Details:

On the west side of the traffic circle Monument A dark stone monolith with an engraved Medal of Honor and 101st Airborne Unit Insignia.  At the front, a photo is attached.  The monument is at the spot where LTC Cole led his battalion in a bayonet charge after being hopelessly pinned down to drive back the enemy and secure the approach to Carentan.  Cole was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions here.
