As you enter the Quenoche cemetery, the plaque is located on the left-hand side.

Plaque This commemorative stone plaque dedicated to the 3rdInfantry Division of the 7th U.S. Army represents an advancing American soldier under an American flag. It was created by a resident of Quenoche named Bernard Fédy (pictured below). During the Second World War, the 3rdInfantry Division fought from North Africa to Austria and served as an essential unit in the liberation of Eastern France and the ultimate crossing of the Rhine River at Strasbourg in November of 1944. To this day the residents of Quenoche have continued to pay tribute to the soldiers who died liberating their town by adopting three graves at the Epinal American Cemetery.
