A-16 Airfield
Details:
Located on the north side of the D424, south of Sainte Marie-du-Mont. There is a sign on the D-913 Marker A red granite stone (1.3 meters high) polished on one side with gold leaf inscription in Engish.
Monument Text:
The 36th Fighter Group of the 9th USA Air Force flew from this advanced landing ground A-16 built by the 843rd Air Engrs Battalion 05.08 to 27.08.1944. In respectful memory of those who gave their lives for liberty.
