<< Back to Angoville-au-Plain Church

Details:

On the east side of the road, across from the church.

Monument

A grey, rounded rectangle monument inscribed in French and English text commemorating Robert Wright and Ken Moore of the 101st Airborne. The insignias of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 101st Airborne Division are printed on the top. American and French flags are at the back of the monument. During the fierce fighting in the area during and after D-Day, two Medics from the 101st Airborne set up a field hospital in the little church. They provided medical assistance to 80 combatants, of both sides, and one child.
