A brass inscribed plaque.

The plaque was placed by the 96th Infantry Division Association to remember Generals Buckner and Easley and Colonel May as well as the efforts of the Division during 'Operation Iceberg' the Battle for Okinawa that occurred in 1945.

MONUMENTS ON JUNE 24, 1995.

GEN EASLEY AND COL MAY
WERE CHOSEN AS REPRESENTATIVE OF
THE UNSURPASSED VALOR OF THE
96TH INF DIV MEN OF TAKING ALL
OBJECTIVES AT A COST OF
 10,000 CASUALTIES

GEN EASLEY WAS KILLED AT YUKA-DAKE
EAST OF HERE. COL MAY WAS KILLED AT 
KOCHINDA ITHEN CALLED IWA.
