96th BG Stained Glass
Details:
The window is located to the right of the main altar.
The chapel window has two main lights - the left depicting a figure of Christ and the right, an American airman and a flight of aircraft. Both lights are with badges of the 8th Air Force and 2 squadron insignias each on the top. The small stained glass at the top center is the insignia of the 96th Bomb Group. The memorial is a tribute to the men 96th Bomber Group who gave their lives in the fight for freedom. The idea for the memorial was first promoted by CPT Herbert Allen, 338th BS flight surgeon in April 1944.
