Affixed on the west side of the gate’s arch, placed below the Mornas liberation plaque.


Plaque A rectangular plaque inscribed in French and English text with gold-leaf lettering. The plaque commemorates the 3rd US Infantry Division for liberating the town of Mornas from German forces on August 26, 1944. Mornas was liberated together with Avignon, Mondragon, and Bollène on that day.
